Research Interests Professor Carol Hall is Head of the School of Education, Dean of the Faculty of Education and Director of the Centre for the Study of Human Relations . She is also the Director of the HEFCE-funded eChina~UK Project . In 2005 she was the recipient of a Lord Dearing Award for Teaching and Learning.

She has worked in the field of Human Relations and Counselling for over 25 years as an academic researcher and practitioner.
She has co-authored several books, including

  • Human Relations in Education (1988),
  • Scripted Fantasy in the Classroom (1990),
  • Curriculum and Leadership in the Primary School (1993),
  • Developing Leadership in the Primary School (1998)
  • Counselling Pupils in Schools (2002),
  • as well as numerous journal articles in the area.

  • As a consultant, she has worked nationally with public and private sector organisations and government agencies as well as working one-to-one with individuals who require various forms of personal and professional support. Her particular area of interest is in promoting emotional literacy in learning organisations.
