| Research Topic |
Mobile Group blogging Application in Learning-case study of culture transition
|
 |
| Summary of Research |
In our times the explosive expansion of Web 2.0 Social Space, typified by the phenomena of Flickr, MySpace, YouTube…, present interesting opportunities in the information and experiences sharing online.
Mobile technology increasingly facilitates social and connected learning practices. In this research, the mobile group blog as a learning community was applied in assisting student sojourners to learn the host culture. It aims to help overseas students reduce culture shock, enhance cross-culture awareness and adapt to local life by collecting and sharing information through the mobile devices integrated with a group blog site.
This may be a single spark for ‘lighting up’ learning in a global mobile community, the informal settings of everyday life, which is the real borderless learning environment.
Additionally, this research may also be a starting point for global generalization and potential extension of valuable international cultural adaptation with the most recent information and communication technology for international studies, tourism and business.
